double the first eqn
4x+10y-12=0
4x+y+12=0
subtract
9y=0
y=0
x=-3

Elliemay - your maths is correct but your typing is poor. You should have typed 4x+10y+12=0

(just trying to stop you confusing Leah)

Excuse the typo. Hope it didn't confuse leahbee, but since she hasn't answered any of the posts, we'll never know!
