Can your age be worked out from your national insurance number?

The inland revenue can tell when you are old enough for pensions but i dont know if that has anything to do with the NI number.  in my number i have an "03" and that is the year i turned 16, that is the only thing i can find really relevant but i dont know why it would be 16
no - unless it's a temporary number (which starts TN) as this will include your date of birth in the numbers.
Yeah...an employer can just look at the NI number and there's like a combination what tells them your age. Coz my mums boss knows how to do it. I'll have to ask her how. Coz when I was 15 I got her to make me one that would say I was 16 so I could get a job. Thats probably fraud but I didnt get the job anyway.
I don't think so, as far as I can see it is related to your family.  My own, my sisters and my mums are all one letter different
The fist 2 letters are the year code.
The first two letters can't be the year code WoWo as my two sons have the same letters and they got their cards 5 years apart.
