Without internal tests etc, what symptoms would be present / absent in colitis that would rule out bowel cancer?

None.....there are no symptoms or lack of symptoms that would rule out malignant disease

" Internal tests" would be essential.

P.S there is an increased incidence of colorectal cancer associated with ulcerative colitis.
