By the Mortgage company, or by a Chartered Surveyor?

How long since the survey took place, and what, if anything are you wanting to contest?
Question Author
a friend has put in a offer on a house, been accepted however the completion date will be June/July time, so she is wondering if she has a homebuyers survey done now how long does it last, will she need to have another one completed before the completion date.
The Homebuyers Survey is a report on which the prospective buyer should base their purchase. It is for their information, only, and gives details of the condition of the house at the time that the survey was carried out. There may be items that the purchaser can use to negotiate a reduction in the price, etc.

I urge your friend to get a survey carried out by an RICS accredited surveyor and *not* rely on anything the Mortgage provider produces.
