Hi There I have recently got my hands on an apple mac g4. I want to know if it has a cd burner built in. I am not used to using macs and I am looking for some pointers! how do I find out exactly what is in my mac? There also appears to be a second cd rom type drive below the cd drive that opens when I press the eject key on the keyboard. is this an actual drive or just a design thing? please help. thanks a mill

No, not all G4s come with a burner but it sounds as though you have (I guess you have a DVD (or CD) on the top and a burner beneath). To test in OSX > Apple menu > About this Mac > More info > Devices and Volumes > Bus will show the name of the CD-ROM devices. In OS 9 > Finder > in Apple menu > Apple system profiler > in Devices and Volumes look at the details under Internal ATA devices. What about software? Do you have burning software such as Toast?
