I looked at and enjoyed the BBC's a robbers tale/a coppers tale, I have a friend that worked on the railway (at Bridego Bridge) at the time of this event,
he now lives in Australia and I would like to send him out the DVD of these programs however it seems that they are not yet available to buy but they are available on Iplayer, is there any way of downloading them and putting them on a DVD disc, I will gladly pay if this is possible?

Apart from copyright concerns, would there not be a problem mick with a burnt off download in the UK being incompatible with the aussie dvd/blueray players. We have different zones for DVDs.
BBC launches global iPlayer in Australia, but there's no global Licence Fee... http://www.abc.net.au/technology/articles/2011/09/28/3328262.htm via @ABCtech
there is a version of iplayer available on youtube for oz, but not sure if it has that programme available

the dvd comes out 06/1, its not so long to wait

I have sent him out many paid for DVD's retrocop and there has never been a problem playing them.
I think Australia uses the same Region (2) as here.
Fair enough.Thats modern technology for you.
Australia has a different region code but if the person has a multi regional player it won`t matter anyway. If it`s recorded from the TV via DVD recorder, I don`t think it matters either. I don`t know what they have in Australia but a lot of my colleages subscribe to a VPN which bypasses the system and allows them to watch things such as iplayer in other countries. It fools the websites into thinking they have a different ip address so that they can watch things in regions where they couldn`t otherwise.
A bit pedantic I know, but in the robbers tale there seemed to be no leaves on the trees & when does it snow in mid-summer!
Well the robbers were tea leaves weret they.carrust
