Very true - but are more Mandelas required? The treatment of Tibet by communisim? The Caste system in Hinduism? Muslims attitudes to females?

are they, let us have some balance, what we actually need is for not giving aid money that goes straight into despots pockets, not to prop up vile regimes that persecute their own people at every turn, what the world needs is to stop turning a blind eye to the treatment of women, not just in Pakistan, Afghanistan, what the world needs is not more corruption, if you think that this means more people like Mandela, where do they come from, if the population is half starved, ill educated, and indeed poor beyond words. The world still revolves whether there is a Mao, Stalin or Gadaffi or not. sadly it's the ordinary folk who go along with such people that are the ones who suffer ultimately. And there are more than two sides to every tale, it's not always cut and clear as to who is the bad guy, after all the west has propped up some nefarious regimes, perhaps in the hope there isn't a worse one waiting in the wings.
perhaps if the west takes a back seat and let others get on with their business and we get on with ours, however that pans out, we maybe better off, they have to find their own way in the scheme of things
