As a child, I collected stamps, mainly the Stanley Gibbons sets that were popular in the late 60s early 70s but some 1st day franked editions (Including Concord). I just came across a book of them in the back of our filing cabinet and wondered how to go about getting them valued.

I just can't let this opportunity pass without at least trying to appeal to your better side - if you have one!

All my own work :-)

Craft - thankyou very much (I do feel a bit stoopid but I imagined that SG were no longer around). I shall go write out 'I must research before I post' 100 times.

Wolf, I am a member of a small village committee who work extremely hard to raise money for local charities and a hospital head injuries unit. We have raised around £35000 in the last 4 years so I think I 'do my bit'.
Similar to Craft1948. You may find the retail values here:- http://www.stanleygibbons.com/stanleygibbons/view/catalog/sgproductcatalog?gclid=CP_Vpvznm7sCFYUewwod8g4Amw
Remember, these are retail prices.
Don't do that Zacs, you made me feel great..........

See Wolf^^^^, more charity work!
Zax, tell your master that to have raised that sort of money in such a short time is fantastic.

I hope you manage to find a stamp or two that is worth more than the norm. Try ebay for an idea of value.

Good luck
My predictive text changed Zac to Zax - sorry!

Ta Wolf. Good luck with your cause. Many of my stamps (especially the 1st editions) were bought for me by my Grandma & Grandad who would post the letters to themselves (or me) to ensure it was franked as I believe they're worth more. So a lot have sentimental value.
