I have sold items on e bay and have had problems with the buyer. How can I find the name or phone number of an address in Slough to see if these people received this parcel?

you can't
have they paid?
not actually sure how finding their phone number will tell you if they've had the parcel or not.
If you have their name and address then try the phonebook part of bt.com

They might be ex-directory
I thought you were supposed to take it up through ebay- either send an ebay message to the buyer to raise a dispute with ebay.
I'm wondering from your query whether this wasn't a straightforward transaction- did they ask you to send it to an alternative address?
you can ask ebay for their details.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I sold and item, posted it 1st class and the buyer says he did not receive it. I may have put No29 instead of No39, his house number on the package. I asked him if he would go to his neighbour 5 doors away and ask if they had received a parcel addressd to him, he refuses to do this as he says it is my problem if I sent it to the wrong address. He is being as akward as possible and e bay have now given him his money back. I think he has had the parcel but I thought if I could phone the people at No 29 to see if it was delivered there but obvioulsy I don't know their names so that's why I need to know if I can contact the number without a name.
Ask number 29
Oh dear....I always use a signed for service when I sell on ebay, also check and double check the address...isn't hindsight a marvellous thing?
I am sorry, but your buyer is right, it is your problem if you put the wrong address on....and if I was the person at number 29, I would be really peeved to be phoned by a complete stranger.
I am sorry if this sounds hard but your error, you fix it.
do you have proof of posting? if so you can get a refund from RM. Could you write to number 29?
If you have the proof of posting receipt which eBay always recommend you obtain from the PO, which costs nothing, then the address will be written on there (house number and postcode) - did you do that?

Yes I have proof of posting and I have decided to write to number 29 to see if they can help me shed some light on this. I know it's my error but the buyer was just so pigging akward, he would not go to No 29 and just ask them if they had a letter addressed to him.
If you have the proof of posting you can put in a claim for non delivery even though it was not signed for postage. Standard postage has a limit of £20 compensation for loss. Get the form from the post office and fill it in.
You need proof of the value of the item ,( the ebay and paypal sales invoices for an ebay item) I have done this more than once and got a refund for an eBay item that had not arrived.
If you have proof of posting, did you post it to number 29 or 39? If you posted it to the wrong house they you are the one who made the mistake!
Exactly, woof - what does it say on yoru PoP, eastern, it terms of house number? If you put the wrong number on the parcel then it's your fault - let's hope that if the person at the wrong number doesn't know the person at 39, they'll return to sender so you get it back eventually (that is, if you put your return address on the back). He's not being awkward, he's quite right, it's not the buyer's place to go round chasing his parcel, it's your responsibility to address it correctly. You're not having "problems with the buyer if" this is the case - sounds as if you mailed it to the wrong address.

OK guys or girls I get the picture, the original question was how can I find a number etc. I copied the address down off the e bay label and a 2 may look like a 3. I dont think it's unreasonable to ask someone to walk 50 yards to a neighbours house to ask if they have a parcel delivered to them that was not for them. Most people in the world are honest and if I had a parcel delivered that didn't have my name on but a neighbour's I wouldn't consider it too unreasonable to hand it to them and say I believe this is your property. I don't need armchair lawyers pointing out the bleedin obvious thanks all the same. Anyway as I've said I have written to the people at No 29 to see if they have had the parcel delivered there by mistake and yes my house no and postcode are on the back so it could eventually come back to me although not if it was delivered to "boxtops" address!!
" a 2 may look like a 3"
Not on my computer it doesn't
Is somebody received a parcel not intended for them and they have neither contacted you nor returned the parcel to sender then I really can't see them admitting they received it.

The best you can hope for is that the wrong address did receive it and took it to the proper buyer. Then you can report the buyer to the police for theft by fraud.
