I've heard them say "stat" for that purpose but l dont think anyone listens. lol

STAT is a medical term from the Latin for 'immediately'.

So yes - they do say it.
My wife says it's an American thing. Hence ER gets a lot of 'stat'.

ER is sorta like that but fast manic pace.

I use the term stat on a daily basis working as a nurse!!

am another one working in the medical field and yes the word stat is used often
