Hi All

I suffered from extremely heavy periods and recently had fibroids and polyps removed.

At the consultants suggestion I had one of the above fitted at the same time.

I now have my period and whilst very much lighter it has lasted over 2 weeks so far.

Has anyone else had one of these and is this normal?

Any help appreciated.

I never saw a period at all when I had one fitted, had to have it removed as the hormones didn't agree with me.
I think you'll need to give it time for the hormones to adjust.
I had one fitted but unfortunately didn't work for me but I was told when I had it to give it six months to settle down. I was given a six month chart to fill in too.

Thanks for you replies.
If you end up not getting on with the coil, speak to your doc about tranexamic acid, it's very good at lightening your periods. If you're not going to have any more kids then an endometrial ablation gets rid of periods altogether, it's a bit drastic but it's the best thing ever.
i had it fitter about 5 yrs ago i havnt had a period in years i love it only downfall is i put on alot of weight but that might not be down the the myrena coil just coincidental that i gained weight same time
