Inspired by carrust's dishwasher antics ...

... have you noticed that technology (or at least the ability to understand and use it) is very much split by sex.

Dishwasher - female

Lawn Mower - male

Washing Machine - female

Electric Drill and other Power Tools - male

Audio Visual (TV etc) - entirely male once it goes beyond 4 channels
Iron - well obviously ...

Cars - entirely male once it involves anything grubby or any opening of the bonnet

Vacuum Cleaner - mainly female - except for big dysons which seem to be a bit male

There's nothing inherently different (or indeed difficult) about any of the various technologies - so are we all products/captives of our stereotypical upbringings?

I'll be somewhere else (and under a pseudonym) before gness sees this ... :+)

My BH arranged the wedding (with her Gorgon mother). I fixed the honeymoon to the Manx Grand Prix Motor Cycle races, which is why we spent our first night sitting on a crowded bench in a crowded ferry on the Irish Sea. And was never allowed to fix anything again!
