Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new car, I want to buy it on finance but I want the monthly repayments to be less than £150 if possible. I want a small car, and ideally I'd like a really economical one (I have a Juke at the minute and with a long commute to work every day the amount I spend on petrol is ridiculous) I've heard that some economical cars are tax free as they're also very environmentally friendly? A bonus would be USB port, sat nav, and bluetooth included, and also a reversing camera, as I have one with my Juke and it's been really handy, but I'm not sure if these are available with small cars! Do you have to buy the car with this camera already fitted, or can you go out and have it fitted onto any car?

Thanks :)

Hi Carley. To start with, do you know what your Juke is worth as trade in and how much money do you owe on it?
Arguably, the best small car at the moment...one of the three siblings that are Volkswagen Up!, Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo. They are essentially the same car built alongside each other.
Capable of 65 to 70 mpg, zero road tax, cheap insurance, 0% finance...the list goes on. My choice is the Skoda...

The main disadvantage at the moment is the waiting-list for factory orders.
Those are all so tiny.
Go for a Dacia. A Duster is akin to the Juke and has excellent reviews.
You will get it within your price range.
Alternatively the slightly smaller Sandero Stepway or the lower Sandero.
Build is good and even the lower models have bluetooth etc.

My wife has a Sandero and it is brilliant. £99 for 3 years and then it is fully owned.

They are NOT tiny..they are small, which is what the OP wanted. Quality-wise..better, also. But we could argue the toss all day....
mjwman’s post gives the impression that his wife buying a brand new Sandero for £3,564 (£99 x 12 x 3 = £3,564), obviously she is not.

Most of these, small deposit and X amount per month for three years deals involve you paying off half the cars value in those three years; you then have the option to buy the car (for the remaining balance), or walk away from the deal – having paid half the value of the car to drive it for three years.

I doubt that anyone will sell you a new car at £150 per month for three years of payments (total £5,400) – other than on the above terms.

My advice is to see if you can find a good pair of new trainers.
Skoda Citigo 1.0 MPIS £2000 per year inc deposit and Vat...2 year min contract
You will lose that on any new car on registration!
This is Personal Contract Hire..you hand it back at the end.
Sorry, I was being stupid and thinking of something else. Mrs MJW mans Sandero is £200 per month. No deposit, for 3 years.
They may be inexpensive but the quality is there for sure!
Plus you own it after the three years. Depreciation on Dacias is very low too which is good coupled with a low inital price.
To gingejbee... Tiny. We looked at the Skoda/VW etc also the Spark and I doubt you would get much in the boot.Certainly not a pushchair.
We need space for our new grandaughter and shopping. The Sandero boot is huge in comparison.
