Thought we had heating sorted now more problems....today the joint above the pump was leaking quite badly. My hubby would put on a new one (big mistake I think) now the heating will not work at all no hot water going to radiators. The radiator release one??? is not even warm. He had to drain the system to replace the joint anyone know what he has done wrong? It is a duel system runs off oil or the wood burner. We had problems when the wood burner was on radiators heated but no hot water in the tap strange one? Waiting for plumber about this. Now no heating at all help.

Has the plumber been, Giggsie?

My money is on an airlock. Easy to get after draining down......... especially if there are pipe runs to a boiler AND a w/burner.

No not been yet, phoned to say he was very busy do his best for Monday. He said to turn thermostat for pump right down to see if pump would come on but it didn't. Don't want to put wood burner on when hot water can't get away. How can we clear if it is air locked? There is a pump at the oil boiler and one under hot tank near the neutraliser. And yes there is a lot of pipe runs and bends in the cupboard housing the hot water tank. Thanks the builder for replying to me.
Just an observation from what it looks like, but are you aware a non gas safe person fixing a gas appliance is illegal and possibly dangerous.
Gas Safe Person??? for oil or wood...
Quite right Postie...but Giggsie is working on water not gas!
