I was told years ago to fill it with warm water and put a tablespoon of washing powder in it.
Soak overnight then gently scrub (I know, not two words that go together) with a bottle brush.
These days, the microfibre foam washing up brushes would be ideal I would think

Thank you so much. Problem solved I hope.
Buenchico has those too!!!!

Legs it................
'BB's' (for airguns) would do the same job as those magic balls.
But if you do need a shotgun cartridge......
Chris' are more expensive!!!
these ball thingies sound like a right faff.
Just sling some calgon in it or something.
Ball thingies are really easy to use mojo. Calgon and similar can etch the inside of decent glass, just like putting glass in a dishwasher.
My good wife uses a denture cleaning cleaning tablet (Steradent or similar) in pretty warm water and leaves it overnight. Works well.

If the glass on the inside has turned cloudy, it may never again appear to be clean, since whatever was in the jug may have etched it. I've had antique crystal decanters like that.
