Is it safe to use a litre of Asdas long life milk which is labelled "Best before 29th August 2013. I cannot place an order for fresh milk with Asda until the value of my order reaches £25.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The long-life milk will be fine.
Perfectly safe,

This is only a best before date, not a use by date.
Taste it. If it tastes sound, drink it.
Just drink it
Why not just add some more long-life milk to your order to make it up to £25?
Yes.
Surely you must be able to get a pint of bl00dy milk a little easier than having it delivered from ASDA ? Anyway, for future reference, milk freezes very well, especially the semi and completely skimmed variety, so keep a litre in the freezer for future emergencies.
