What do young people cook nowadays? As on a regular basis. I imagine most young people work so don't have much time so what do they cook for dinner?

So trigger all your younger friends eat home cooked meals so THEY cook. What do they cook?
i cook from scratch and enjoy doing so, my nieces all cook as well and do so very well. one of them is a pretty good baker and does birthday cakes for family and friends.

I don't understand why you think if someone works that means they won't have time to cook?
I don't think you can group all young people in the same boat, although traditional meat and two veg is becoming less popular (unless you can get mum to do it for you lol!). My daughter has been brought up on homemade stuff so she makes casseroles, chilli and Bolognese sauces in bulk in the slow cooker and freezers portions for her and her husband -she even did this at Uni and was a very popular housemate lol! My sons wife on the other hand was brought up on shop bought ready meals and so continues to buy these, as well as son making stuff on a weekend from my recipes ( no that doesn't always go down well lol!)
working d'ter typical dinner is grilled/baked chk kiev, salmon, beefburgers, fish cakes all with boiled new pots & broccolli, or pasta that resembles dogs seconds :(

mccfluff: I didn't say they don't have time to cook I said they don't have MUCH time to cook.
What I'm after is to find out WHAT young people cook nowadays and I'm very grateful for those who have told me. Are young children these days being brought up on ready made meals or do their parents cook their meals and if so, what do they cook?
My kids are not fussed on ready meals so I just make stuff (and it works out cheaper) - cottage pie, chicken pie, chicken kebabs, spag Bol, macaroni cheese, toad in the hole, lasagne, jacket potatoes, pizza, Welsh rarebit, burgers, bangers and mash, benans and cheese on toast, etc (plus mine love veg so I am lucky).
