Warranty Query!!

My aunt has a Dell laptop, which she purchased from Argos last February however and didn't take out an Argos warranty, in the 8 months since purchase, it has developed a couple of small scratches in the middle of the screen.

Is there any reason that would stop her taking the laptop back to Argos for repair or an exchange seeing as it still within its one year guarantee period??

All help appreciated in advance..

Many thanks...

Warranty doesn't cover everything that is wrong with an item, it covers manufactures faults. I don't think scratches would be covered.

is the laptop faulty?
I'm pretty sure it can't "develop" small scratches on it's own!
She could take it back if it is faulty, not because of the scratches
