The leaflet explains the extra prizes to be won in New Lotto.

Then says:

How do I play? You play New Lotto in EXACTLY the same way. The ONLY difference is you'll also get entry into a raffle.

So that's all the changes then? That's good.

Oh, and the price of a ticket increases by 100%.

So that is ANOTHER difference. That's also good then.

Two pound for a ticket is too much. I've already stopped doing the ordinary lotto. When I win it's going to be the big one, the €uro lottery.
I won't be buying tickets anymore. Too much.
Does the hot picks still stay the same at £1 ?
Question Author
Currently they are still advertising Hot Picks at £1.
From October 5, the overall prize fund will more than double, with the prize for three numbers increasing from £10 to £25 and the average Saturday jackpot rising from £3.9 to £5m. There will also be a raffle every week where at least 50 winners will receive £20,000 each
Yes I thought so as could not read anywhere of them going up.
Bought a ticket this week, but only because my neighbour asked me to get her one.
Checked it this morning and I won. Not getting excited though, it's only £10.
Still every little helps.
My Lotto wins have been miserable over the years, whereas my Premium Bonds come up every month.
You must have thousands McMouse!!!!!!!!!!
It hasn't gone up for 20 years. If they'd increased it by 10p every second year a ticket would now cost £2.
It won't make much difference to most folk, they'll still pay the £2.
camelot are crowing that the overall prize fund will double, isn't that what they've done to the price of a ticket?
I shan't be able to change my life on £25. Triple rollover minimum or you may keep it.

So you are basically being forced to buy a raffle ticket you didn't want for £1 ?
I shall by a Health Lottery ticket instead.
I often saw people buying multiple tickets, e.g. 10 x£1- if they buy 5 x £2 I'm not sure what the difference is.
I am undecided.
I have had the same lottery numbers since day one and they are burned into my brain
5 fewer chances to win FF ?

I just buy one, on the rare occasions I buy at all. I figure if the good lord wishes to send a win my way it only needs me to buy the one. It can't claim I didn't give it a chance then.
this is the problem for many though, I have had the same numbers since the lotto began, and when they introduced the Wednesday draw I felt I had to buy a ticket with my numbers,,,,,,,,,,so now with the doubling in price of the tickets, do I dare just stop buying tickets ?
Boycott it I say! If enough people stop playing, they will have to review the price increase. £25 instead of £10 for 3 numbers, but the other prizes aren't doubled! Rip off, as far as I'm concerned.
