Hi, we have some badly stained kitchen towels at home which never seem to come up clean. We have a good machine (Miele) so that isn't the problem. My mum uses mainly Morrisons own brand liquitabs though, which on 60 don't seem to do anything at all. The stains are tea and coffee and maybe other food stains which appear quite old.
Is there a good powder we can use to remove stains, and also a good additive? I've been told about Napisan, but never heard of it.

The towels are white some are coloured, so bleach would be unsuitable.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried Vanish? http://www.vanish.co.uk/products
If they get too grubby, I boil mine with powder on top of the stove.
Biological powder and Vanish, soak in Bio powder if stains are bad, try not to let stains dry in.

Wash coloured and whites separately.

Dr Beckmann's do a good selection of stain removers.

I add a spoonful of Astonish Oxy Plus (cheap at Savers!) to Lidl washing tablets and that seems to work pretty well.
Which? says that powders wash better than any other format, particularly for stains. Bio are better than non-bio. If you don't mind spending lots, buy Ariel or Persil Bio....if cost-conscious, Almat Bio (Aldi) is as good, but costs only a third (per wash) as the others. Liquids and gels are poorer for stains.
Bah, save yourself some dosh from buying all those wonder stain removers, boil the buggers for half an hour, that'll shift the stains.
Or just buy new towels!
Do a hot 60deg wash with washing powder and half a packet of washing soda, DO NOT USE FABRIC CONDITIONER .
