Does anybody know how I can remove this? I've tried hot soapy water and scrubbed really hard and also some stain remover I bought from Klene-eze and neither has worked. Any tips would be gratefully received.

Don't invite Edwina again ?

There are variuos products around these days. Have you tried the vanish range ? How about rug doctor products ?
Viv...a friend went to a WI talk on carpet cleaning...yes I know....The speaker said the best way to remove a stain was fabric conditioner in warm water....don't know the quantities so will try to find out. He said to just dab at the stain...don't rub.
She and a couple of others have tried this and reported fantastic results.
Worth a try if nothing else works. x
If it's saffron or turmeric it can be really difficult to get out, you have my sympathy. Try lemonade, that's what it says here http://www.channel4.com/4food/how-to/cleaning-tips/how-to-clean-turmeric-stains (googling has plenty of other suggestions, too)

Thank you all for your tips. I think you may be right boxtops, and the stain is now a few days old!! I'm going to try the lemonade, but fear I may be too late. Fabric conditioner also sounds like a good bet, I'll give it a go.

Don't worry OG, she won't darken my door again (haha).

I spelt 'currie' wrong didn't I ??!!
You could try shaving foam.
Squirt a bit on all over the stain then leave it for a while then carefully take it off working in from the outside.
Must admit I have little hope, though. Turmeric is the very devil to get out of anything.
If the curry contained turmeric you'll never shift it.
..and, if it didn't contain turmeric, it wasn't much of a curry...!

gness I have tried the fabric conditioner theory and whilst it hasn't completely got rid of the stain, it is starting to fade, so I will carry on doing it daily until hopefully it disappears altogether. I was going to get some lemonade today when I went shopping, but forgot.

Thanks for the tip x
Leave it because the more you work on it the more ground in will become .once spilt tomato juice on the carpet left it for a while next thing it was gone

But it's starting to fade weecalf. I'll leave it for a day or two then and see what happens.
