My wife's legs have been bandaged for over 12 months because of an accident where she fell off her mobility scooter.
There were no bones broken but large blood blisters Formed under the skin The blood blisters have now gone and the bandages have now been removed from Her right leg but her skin there is discoloured brown as opposed what you would expect normal skin to be.
Her skin also itches where the leg was bandaged and the only relief she can get from the itching is for me to smear aqueous cream on her leg.
When will the skin return to normal ? and why does it itch all the time ?

Batman....I will get thrown out for going on about this but do google Manuka Doctor....from Superdrug....til Sqad appears with help. ☺
Could she be suffering from lots and lots of ingrown hairs? When I had to wear surgical stockings after surgery all the hairs on the back of my calves grew into the skin, I had to dig them out individually with a sterilised needle. It left my skin discoloured and itched like crazy.
I agree with gness. Is the skin dry? Or any other signs except discolouration?
Sorry, daffy. Didn't mean i don't agree with you-yours wasn't there!
It sounds very much like varicose eczema.

She needs corticosteroid ontment...e.g Hydrocortisone 1% which you can buy over the counter/

Thank you all who have answered so far.
She does have dry skin in places which is why we apply the Aqueous cream.
squad may have the right answer as she does suffer from V.Veins.
We've heard of Manuka Honey may give that a try
I'd go with sqad's advice and use the hydrocortisone for a few days. That should help quite quickly if it's going to. Once the itching has eased, use some Manuka /E45 or similar to keep the skin in good condition.
