Runner Beans For Competition

Hi, there is a competition for the longest runner bean at the beginning of October, I have some unusually long ones right now, is there any way I can preserve them? Or any general tips would be appreciated.

I think its really in the laps of the Gods and the weather they decide to send you're way.
All I can suggest is don't let them beans think that the season is coming to an end, keep up with the watering and feeding,fingers crossed and say a little prayer!!

Stay-Fresh bags (Lakeland) kept my beans fresh and crisp for over 2 weeks, you could try them, don't know if they'd last till October though.
