By post - no chance in hell

Best bet - go to one of the passport offices, pay the extra and get it done there and then...no idea if these interviews have kicked in yet though??

We strongly recommend that you do not book any travel before your new passport arrives.

Reminder: From 1 June 2007, first-time adult passport customers will no longer be able to use the fast track one-week service as they may need to have an interview as part of the passport application process.

If you are applying for your first adult passport and you have an existing child passport, you do not have to wait until your child passport has nearly expired to renew it, but we can add no more than 9 months unexpired validity from the old passport to the new one. You can renew your passport whenever you wish, but you must pay the full fee and no refund can be given for the unexpired validity in the old passport.

If you are applying for your first passport you should plan on allowing more time than in the past to receive your passport as you will need to attend an interview. We recommend you submit your applications six weeks before you need your passport to travel and do not book any travel arrangements until the new passport is received.

We recommend you use the Check & Send service offered by selected Post Office branches.
