Hubby, me and friend came up with about 10 different names for bread rolls. Can you think of any others?

Muffins (and barms) are quite common in the North West.

I'd ask for a barm.

As someone from the US,I'd not define a muffin as a bread roll. A muffin is either what we know here as a rather cake-like monstrosity, the second is the so-called 'English muffin' - similar to a cross between a crumpet and bread.The same with bagels because of the 2-part cooking process they go through.
