I think because it doesnt really offer any sports benefits, its full of sugars but not the type that get processed by the body quickly. It stimulates the body but would have negative effects when playing sport (gives me the shakes which would be no good for darts and snooker :)). I'm saying this based on having drunk it and not on any science basis.
I don't know, but it gives you the worst and longest hangover of any drink I have ever got drunk on. Urgh just the smell of it is enough.....
On second thoughts I remember someone saying it was dreamt it up in Ibiza, or was it Aiya Napa? God knows, they'd drinks meths out there if they sold it the bars.
Foregone conclusion I think, given that most sportsman won't touch the stuff! It's loaded with caffine amongst other things and appart from giving you wings, is a dioretic and consequently de-hydrates you! I read somewhere that a basketball player drank three bottles of the stuff before a match, then collapsed and died during the match!!! Not suggesting there was a connection or anything, but makes you think...
