Having taken a quick look on Auto-trader, £1,500 looks a reasonable price – but you will only know whether you got a bargain or bought a dog, in 2 or 3 years time.

My other advice is check that you get two keys; if fitted with locking wheel nuts, check that you get the key; check that the CD player/radio works (if that is important to you), check that no warning lights are illuminated; check that the electric windows work; check that the locking/unlocking works on all doors (to lock the vehicle [with the doors closed] simply depress any door handle button, twice to deadlock – to unlock, place you hand as if to open the door, the sensors should then automatically unlock all doors). Check the remote fob works as well.
Forgot to add – you don’t need to place the key-fob in the dash-slot to start the vehicle, simply having it on your person is good enough. So as long as you have the key-fob on your person, you can start, lock and unlock the car – all without taking the key-fob out of your pocket.
Oh, and check that you get the radio code.
