Hi there

I have been experiencing harrasment on and off for about a year now with a man in a car driving past and shouting out homophobic abuse out of his car window. I have a note of his reg number and given it to a close friend just for security. I dont know him but he has a girlfriend who lives in the same block I have seen him occassionally getting into his car with her after it has been parked out overnight. This afternoon I saw the car enter the estate and it was from afar but again he honked his horn and shouted something I couldnt hear so I decided to enter the back of the block just in case he was at the front and he was there he muttered something and then drove off, as it was from afar he could have had her in the car and dropped her off at the back but I am now really paranoid he is after me and might know where I live but surely if he was going to do something he would have done it before now or got out of his car there and then. But this is beginning to bug me I am in two minds as to whether to report it to the police as he knows someone in my block and it could get worse but if ignore it could it get worse? I spoke to my friend this afternoon and she thinks it is just some idiot trying to have a laugh and to ignore it.

This is terrible Gordie. In your shoes, I would definitely talk to the police and also to whoever owns the flats. You are entitled to go about your business without being shouted at or made afraid. Please tell the police about your fears and especially that you are worried this DH knows where you live and will attack you.
Best of all wishes to you dear heart.
A lot of people have left it too late, don't you be one of then.
take a vid on your phone & pass to cops
Definitely discuss your fears with police, even just to log it should anything (heaven forbid) happen. Your friend may be right, he could be a chancer - there's plenty of them brave enough to shout from the safety of their car, but not necessarily so to one's face. But you should know speak to police to discuss next step. I hope you get sorted :-)
