Hi. we now have about 2000 photos saved on our computer, having no idea about how much room these would take up on a memory stick I would be grateful if someone could tell me whether there is one with enough capacity to save them all to just the one stick(or other alternative). Don`t want to lose them if computer crashes..
Thanks..

The best medium for storing photos is on DVD. A DVD has the data written on it with a laser whereas other media such as external hard drives store the data magnetically. Basically, once you put your photos on a DVD they are there for ever subject to the DVD being looked after properly. It all depends how important your photos are to you. If it's your children and holidays etc then they are precious. It's also a good idea to make an extra copy and keep it at another location just in case.
We took nearly 2000 photos on holiday and they were on a tiny card so i'm pretty sure they'd fit on a reasonably-sized memory stick. I have many hundreds of music tracks and videos on a memory stick so I don't see a problem with photos which probably take up much less capacity each
Memory Sticks are notoriously unreliable apparently, so if you do go down this route then take at least two copies on separate sticks and check their viability regularly, replacing any which go t!ts up.
