Hi all you techie wizards I have removed an old harddrive from knackered pc and want to connect it to my new laptop externally to gather some of the information still on it,is this possible and how would I do it cheers

We have a 'dock' that does that for any drive

not sure how much they are to buy (not much i think)

alternatively, for a one off fee a local computer shop would no doubt use something similar to copy the contents onto another machine
You need a hard drive enclosure like this :

thanks folks, looks to be straight forward I will buy a IDE-to-USB cable, with power adapter and bobs your uncle cheers all
