Hi Guys

Question about the above please, short bit of info first:-

Hubby had credit card, not used for ages, bank wrote to him and said basically use it or lose it!
He used it but they still closed the account.
He contacted them, they apologised for error but couldn't reopen so he applied for another card which he got. Same bank by the way.

Now for the question - he is due a refund on the old credit card which of course is now closed, what would happen to the money?
Item was bought through ebay and paid via paypal of this info helps.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

It should track to the new card, but i would be chasing the bank to make sure that it does
So,if one does not use one`s card, they cancel it????
It may or may not track to the new card

You have to make sure that the funds are transferred.

Otherwise the payment goes to the closed account,
goes boing coz it is not open
goes back to the payer who pockets it and says thank you very much
and the only record electronically is that 'it has been paid'.

This can be very troublesome, keep on the job ! and rememberthat
the army of school leavers on the end of the phone who say nothing can be done are wrong.

kloofnek - he hadn't used it for nearly 2 years!!

Thanks for replies, will contact bank to ensure it goes to the right place!
yup kloofnek, you get a letter saying "use it or lose it" then they close it.
Same here, I had a card for emergency use, used it once in 5 years and paid it back within the month. Bank closed it down because I didn't use it enough.
