I Think This Is A Scam.

I was phoned yesterday by a man with an indian accent who said he was from Virgin Media. After a few seconds he asked for my password. I smelt a rat, as nobody before has phoned up wanting my details, so i hung up. The number was 08004089340, which is a Virgin number. Has anyone else had this call?

It's not a scam.
Last week I got from a man claiming to be from Virgin calling because my broadband was reporting as being slow and he had been told to fix it. He didn't know my name, account number or anything - he insisted he had been contacted by Virgin.

He didn't ask for any name or password but he did want me to log in to a website that would have given him remote control of my computer. I told him to bog off - that was definitely a scam, the same one as callers purporting to be from Microsoft.

I get loads of these calls, and I just tell the caller he is a liar and abandon the call.

It is unsolicited telemarketing from Virgin - been a running sore for ages and ages.

Ring 150 (free from your Virgin line) and demand to be removed from *all* marketing calls.
