Good afternoon. I have been growing tomatoes for a few years but I still do not know what the term "When the first trusses have set" means. I believe I should start feeding them when it happens. But what is it? Thanks a lot

Its when the first little bunch of flowers appear.
Folks ere in theU.S. fret over when and how much to fertilize their tomatoes... I've found that the little fertilizer spikes (seen here: Amazon.com User Recommendation ( (I'm in te U.S., btw) are very effective and inexpensive. I just push two or three of them into the gound when transplanting the plants in the spring about 4 or 5 inches from the base of the plants. That's all... nothing more needed througout the season..
Wouldn't worry too much about it beeseejay, it's not an exact science. Just wait until you see little tomatoes start appearing on the trusses (trusses are basically the stalks that hold the flowers and then the fruit) and then give a weekly or twice weekly high potash feed.
