I don't entirely understand what is required here, but you are right that Mr Snagsby & Mr Quayle are both characters in Bleak House.

Another character is Bayham BADGER.
I agree with the others- it would help if you could give an example of a solved clue and answer. I'm not sure whether the hidden animal is included in the question or the answer.
Bleak House is surely right for 57 but I can't see a hidden animal in those words
A bleak is a fish.
Well done, Tilly. That must be right. (I had to look it up- I've never heard of a bleak.) It's not very well hidden in the answer, though.

Sorry I didn't make it clear.
E.g. Stiff felt hat = Bowler . Owl is the hidden animal.
I hadn't heard of bleak but i'm sure that's right. Many thanks Tilly2.
could 85 be corporal punishment i'm still trying to find a creature hidden though
I think the answer to the clue (not the animal) has to be 6 letters, mally, so corporal punishment won't fit
STRIPE definitely fits the clue
One meaning of RIP is an 'old and useless horse'
just looked up stripe it said blow with a lash ,a band of colour and (coll.)tiger
