I don't actually know why it happened, and all I can tell you, because it was so out of the blue was i thought the woman who came out from the choir behind the two opera singers was throwing sweets or something at the judges (all part of the act). But as we found out after, Simon Cowell had been egged by her...It was so bizarre!

I didn`t see it but from that clip, it looks staged to me. The fact that the egg thrower had a big smile on her face and the two singers on the stage didn`t bat an eyelid didn`t ring true. Maybe it was a jokey take on the fact that everyone loves to hate Simon Cowell.
