Is this a domestic door?
I think that thay should be no more than 220 mm high .
Those Regs. only apply to domestic staircases 'within' a building not the threshold steps leading to a front entrance.

Commercial and domestic properties are subject to separate Regs. which is why I asked my initial question.
I don't know if this is any help Granddad, but for external steps, I usually go for 150mm (6") rise, and 300mm (12") tread.

As Jack says, there's no particular rule, but I have always found that a smaller rise, together with a generous tread is a lot more "comfortable" outside.
