Go to docs, they can look down your throat and see what's happening.
Well, I can't see the condition of your throat from here ;-) but what you say,re. the swallowing I would suggest that you see your GP as antibiotics may well be necessary.

I am not a fan of strepsils.

ok thanks will ring up 2moro will probably have to wait a week to see someone tho... ive had it all week and keep getting a recurrent cough
My daugter has had this now for a good week, she said her throat/top of windpipe felt like it had been scrubbed with a brillo pad, her throat looked very red. Doc prescribed the antibiotic erythromycin (she is allergic to penicilin) and today was the first day after being on them for four days was the first day she's felt any better

culdnt get an appointment, but doc rang me and said , sounds like laryngitis, and told me to get a spray from chemist and to take paracetamol.... its maddening trying to get appointments... my partner rang to try and get me in and she said that it will be in 4 weeks unless I rang my self and then for them to get doc to ring me back...... the system is crazy especially when your at work and have to wait for doc to ring you and there isn't anywhere quiet for you to take the call
If this isn't too late for you, I've often found eating roast garlic very helpful -it worked almost instantly for me. Roasting the garlic makes it less pungent but if you can cope with it you could try it raw. Worth a try. Hope you're better soon.
