I'm pretty sure I have some superficial thrombophlebitis in my leg. I woke with a pain in my ankle. It goes up to the inside of my knee. I'm not going to the doctors any time soon. Will heparin help? Ive got some stockings from an op should I put them on? and should I stop taking my pill?

If it is tender to the touch I would go and see your doctor.

Mine was so painful even trousers hurt. It turned out I had a burst vein.

Now, because of the damage cause through non treatment, I have a big dip in my calf. It looks like I have a shark bite lol

don't take heparin it is a blood thinner.
I agree with cassa.....heparin is not needed.
Don't stop taking the pill.
Take any Nsaid for the pain...e.g Ibuprofen 600mgms.
Yes it would be a good idea to wear your stocking.
It should settle within a week.

Ahh thanks Sqad, when I phlebitis from trauma in my arm I had some topical heparin, I had it left over so didn't know whether to use it. It is tender to touch mostly around my ankle, even my socks hurt it.
