Before we go any further, I cannot stand reality shows or these talent contests but I am a Britain's Got Talent fanatic and I cry like Amanda Holden during it. Only when someone sings well? What is it that makes us cry like that? I don't get it with the dancing (cause I dislike it probably) or any other act but Susan Boyle, those sandwich making brothers from this season and that gorgeous ginger bloke from a season or two ago.

I don't cry during xfactor or anything, its just this program.

Never mind.
The 'sandwich boys' sang classical - which stirs up emotions.
BUT, have you seen in the news that they are actually professional singers? Yep, they both sing on cruise ships, but used to help out in their parents 'sandwich shop' - which was one of 5 Subway franchises.

The singers that got me emotional were Jonathan and Charlotte.

Not heard much of them since...
When people cry on these programmes, it puts me off. The sob stories are the reason I don't watch the X-Factor any more.
i be crying if i ever found myself watching a show like any of those

I sky + and fast forward it through the stories (unless its the Britain's Got More talent) and I still get emotional over the songs. I don't really count working on cruise ships as professional though but if they won that would be them and Jane McDonald we've been treated to through the world of cruise. Fabulous!!!! :S

Them being paid to sing on cruise ships is professional. They came on the show and said they "worked in their parents' sandwich shop" - total crap.

It's like the girl who sang Amy-winehouse-style. You know, the one who was SO nervoud she was wringing her hands and could hardly talk.
That same girl appeared on The Voice, just last week, boobs out and certainly not shy!

Not really. She just sounds like a nervous person.

But it's not a lot different to that ventriloquist bloke who worked the clubs for 25 years. They were more than likely approached to sing on there, I can't say I feel conned by it as I don't expect it to be anything other than tweaked. Paul Potts had already sung for Pavarotti and talent scouts for BGT asked Susan Boyle to enter. It's a forum for the not so physically appealing to the general masses, who adore shiney hair, toned bodies and a dazzling smile, to get somewhere.
I don't know what it is either Goodsoulette. I cried at Subo and those two boys the other week (I still cry when I see that performance from Subo) and I know other people of a like mind. Strange (lol).
