Naming a Horse

We have bought another horse and it needs a proper name (horses have nicknames and show names). Any ideas? Nothing like "gone in a flash" as race horses have rubbish names like that! lol


I suggested Nimrod, Inferno and Vulcan, as he is a chestnut but Fidget is also the sort of thing we are looking for.

Not sure about Ginger Minger.. "...and now, Bunty riding the Ginger Minger" lol doesn't really go for a horse show in the home counties lol

You don't need permission to name a horse after someone.


There was actually a racehorse called Red Adair (Irish -born in 1992). Don't think that would be a problem unless yours is a thoroughbred and registered with Weatherby's.

My horses r called Sean and Dillon very plain names. i would love to call them something more interesting like... for a mare :Tinkerbell (cos its cute)


for a gelding:Pumpkin (cos thats cute too)


but for a stallion it would hav 2 b :- Zorro/Magnum/Indianna (and the stallion would hav 2 b black lol) btw gr8 names u lot especially the double barrel ones !!!im likin brandy butter atm!!
