Stuck on two, tried Google with no success. Who was the first French soccer international to play in the English first division? What are known in Italy as "The bread of the mountains"?

1) possibly Didier Six who played for Aston Villa in 1984-5 - I vaguely remember hearing that but haven't found a reference so far
just found this http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/story/0,,626717,00.html which says:-

In stark contrast to the modern influx of French talent, Didier Six was a lone pioneer when he joined Aston Villa in 1984

"pioneer" suggests that he was the first.

And thanks again. Now we can send it in - although I don't know what we'll do with the two cases of beer if we win as I'm temporarily off alcohol!
