I have an ikea light and the bulb has gone. Can I replace it with a normal bulb of the appropriate size or does it need to be specifically an ikea bulb? I seem to remember once before I could only use an ikea bulb for an ikea lamp. Thanks in advance for your help.

I can think of no reason why an Ikea lamp should require a bulb which is only available from Ikea. If you can find the same type elsewhere, buy it.
They are (usually) screw fitting rather than the more common bayonet type - but, as Chris says, any bulb of the appropriate size/fitting/wattage may be used.
