Just a few questions as I have been too confused to post on any of them...

1) What are they all about? Just posting song lyrics? I must be missing something.
2) Why are they so popular? I think i'm the only person not to have posted on one!
3) Okay... Well it turns out I only had two questions... I'm sure i'll think of more :-)

I used to have a go when it first started, then it was just the song title or the first line, now it seems to have become a competition to see who can cut and paste the most the quickest, I don't bother that much anymore.

Erin-X, the simple explanation is they are just fun... they don't cause any harm or are being offensive to anyone.

As for the Apotheosis Ed thread... well I realized how dumb I am.

something to do when youve nothing else to do I suppose. I find it very difficult sometimes to get there first. By the time Ive thought of something or copied and pasted, someone has changed the words, so a little bit of mini speed comp also. I do enjoy it though for a bit of fun. There are also some songs popping up that have been long forgotten and bring back memories
