Anywhere but Newquay. Period.

What do they like?

I live down here, Chiara.
Fistral Beach
Newquay Zoo used to be quite good. Not been for a few years though.
Isn't there a miniature railway there too (as well as a zoo)?
I'm pretty sure there was when I last went there (about 30 years ago LOL).
Eden Project (if you have the cash and its semi inside - I think circa £70 for a family of four).

Maritime Museum in Falmouth (there's a Rick Stein's Fish and Chip shop in the square and a cracking good Pizza Express with views over the Marina as well.

St Michaels Mount with ice cream in Newlyn at Jelberts (old fashioned Cornish) and a walk around the fishing boats.

There are some old steam trains.

Fish and Chips at Indian Queens/St Columb, the Port and Starboard (brilliant)

There may well be some surfing and kites at Watergate, Fistral Bay and Perranporth.......

Cornish Pirates Rugby in Penzance (good and welcoming for kids).

As long as they are out and about being entertained, they are pretty happy doing anything.
Devon?
Newquay may not be to your taste DT but I'd say its ideal for kids that age.
Falmouths ok
Newquay is more for Teenagers, Evian.....except for the beaches re rock pools and all the rest and there's plenty of those along the North Coast, the issue being the weather as it hasn't been much above 3C today.
Newquay Waterworld - 2 indoor pools but not sure if they are open.

Pot Tea training (Pottery painting)

Lappa Valley Steam Railway

Holywell Fun Park
Totally agree with DT. Newquay is for older kids, not youngsters.
We went a few years ago, and the kids were really bored.

They can sit on the beach, but that's about it.

We went to the Eden project last year, a lot of money for what it is (and all a bit odd to be honest).
Lol Sherr. I took the kids there, they had no interest at all. I really enjoyed it though :-)
Himself 'enjoyed' the honesty system of paying for food :( We went in Feb half term and it was too cold to really enjoy it and not really something my kids were in to, probably too young for it really.
it depends what you mean by being entertained. personally i would avoid newquay - unless they are keen surfers and would like mini blackpool - as that and lands end are places to avoid. imo. lots of other beaches to explore and places to go. only go to newquay to visit friends who live there and hate it (and he's a surfer) and to buy glass.
