don't give him/her anything to eat for 12 -24 hours just lots of water, and then give a light diet of boiled chicken and rice etc hopefully that should settle it if that dosent work then you will have to go to the vets
I agree with clair . Food will probably make it worse, that is if your dog will eat anything. If it doesn't settle down after 24 hours take him/her to the vet as they quickly get dehyrated and that can be serious.
EVERYONE! anytime your dog has a medical problem call the vet, don't wait to get an answer here. Maggie01 and Claire3934 has some good advice, but a vet can see if there is more than a problem of a simple stomach ache. We here in the states usually have access to an emergency vet somewhere in the area. Not sure what you have there in the UK.
Perhaps someone who asks WOT can i give a dog ----- should be treated with caution!
For goodness sake Dkeyse stop criticising peoples spelling.
If you haven't any sensible advice to offer someone who is obviously worried about their dog then don't bother to reply.
You seem to delight in hopping round AB reminding people about lower and upper case letters and apostrophes.
If you don't have any constructive advice butt out.
I just have to add to this post after reading drgnrdrs post....

That not everyone who has pets can afford to go running to the vets and pay for a consultation every time they get a touch of diarrhoea and I can safely say (as a vet nurse) that as long as they are not having hugely violent bouts of diarrhoea and or vomitting, then following the advice of starving them for 12 hrs for young dogs and 24 hours for dogs over a year then feeding them on chicken and rice is perfectly safe and will actually clear up 95% of cases. Also I would just like to add that natural yoghurt really isn't necessary especially if your dog hates it that much, the stress of doing it could make the diarrhoea worse.

No offense guys and certainly if it doesnt clear up within 24 hours or gets worse or if they are vomitting a lot too or if they are not drinking then you should take them to a vet.
