My OH bought some fresh kippers for today's breakfast.

What do you serve with them?

We have brown bread and marmalade this prevents after taste

The smell is awful and the bones are worse.

Just finished them. I had them with scrambled eggs and fried left over spuds.

I wasn't keen, the cats eating mine, but the others scoffed it.

Now you need to light some candles to get rid of the smell.

I would agree with eggs and plain toast. Kippers (and mackeral for that matter) are quite rich so stick to non rich stuff. Tinned tomatoes are good as well.

I'll be going over the shop in a bit so I'll see how bad the smell is after I've been in the fresh air.

Now, time to clean up and start prepping dinner :-)
