We may no longer be evolving by natural selection because we are keeping people alive who would normally have died before or soon after birth.
In addition we are living longer and therefore able to pass on any of our defective genes for a longer period of time. This especially applies to men who could father a child into their 90s.

Another factor is that we can control our home environment . We can ensure our food and water is safe. We can control the temperature of our homes and other home comforts so our bodies don't naturally adapt to our surroundings . Which had been a major factor in our evolution .

Overall the human gene pool may in fact be deteriorating .
