Cold and Flu Products?

I should really be posting this question in the How it doesn't work section. For the past 3 days, I have had an annoying cold, runny nose crossed between blocked nose, sore throat and headache. I have been taking Lemsip flu tablets and Lemsip drinks for past few days and if anything, this cold has got worse. They claim to make me feel much better and I quote "the pleasant tasting warming drink will soon help to soothe and relieve your symptoms." Can I have these cowboys under the Trade Description Act? Not only does the product evidently not work, the drink is certainly not pleasant tasting?

Its not for everyone, but when I get the symptoms of a cold, just before bed, a good dose of Scotch does the trick, the spirit skills the germs, and if I have a sore throat, just warm it up a bit, with some honey, not only does you good, but tastes good also.

pish and tush to all cold and flu 'remedies'.

all i do is keep warm and kip in the evenings.all you can do is help your body fight da power !

I have an excellent remedy try the new first defence spray you can get it in boots it really works i had a cold coming the other day i sprayed this 4 times a day up the snout and the next day completley gone amazing. It might be a bit late for you now but keep it in the cupboard for next time

Try adding sugar to the Lemsip - it slightly improves the taste - just a teaspoon or so...

but I find the best trick is a nip of vodka in the Lemsip - works every time for me :-)

The only thing that works for me is a day in bed and paracetamol every few hours!
Have to agree with Lonnie. hot whisky with honey and sometimes a drop of lemon juice helps. Very moreish.

Look forward to a cold every winter!
They did a test of cold remedies on TV a few years ago and came up with this answer: If you take a cold remedy the cold will last for two weeks and if you don't take a cold remedy the cold will last a fortnight!
Treat a cold & it will be gone in about seven days; dont treat it and it will last about a week.
