I allways do as I think "that might have been one of mine if things had not gone so well for us" but when I handed £3 over today the young man just put the money in his pocket and turned away, not even offering me my 50p change, I would usually say "keep the change" but it really anoyed me that it was not even offered, I was in a hurry so left it, but I won't buy another unless I have the right money in my purse.

I didnt used to, but i do now after reading the book about Bob, the street cat and his owner. It made me see that there are people on the streets like him that sell the big issue purely to pay their energy bills and put food on the table.

No, I have never bought one.
No, for the reasons already mentioned here. They're mostly East Europeans claiming a right to stay here as self employed, whilst picking up benefits to send back home.

Whenever I came to England I always bought one or two and usually just gave them the money and not take the mag (being as I am so kind) but I regret to say and may well be rebuked for it, but recently I have only noticed foreigners ie Rumanians in long skirts and headcovers, and I refuse to give them anything, and yes they have smartphones and shout if no one buys a mag.
