Further to my earlier post,

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Computers/Question1219500.html

My computer keeps on freezing after about 30 minutes. Nothing works, keyboard, mouse and not even Cont, Alt + Del. Would this be sorted if I use system recovery disc? Next question, how do I use this?

Having said that all, right now that computer is on a black screen and message says that "one of your disc needs to be checked for consistency............." and it is checking something. I hope that will solve the problem. If not then please I would appreciate any suggestions.

you can schedule that same disk check to happen whenever you want by right clicking start > computer > right click on your c drive and click properties then tools, then error checking - start this - it will start, and then stop and say that it cannot check the disk when it is in use, and do you want to schedule a diskcheck next time you start the machine - click yes,...

Rather than rush to a recovery disk I think my first check would be whether you processor is getting too hot. To go for a while then freeze, blocked fans sound a possibility.
Try this first, see how you go.

it is running a chkdsk - check disk - leave it running and it should, hopefully fix whatver the problem is.

if it is just getting hot, get a laptop fan off ebay or something

also - do you have decent antivirus softwarer etc?

get something proper, and download malwarebytes (free) and run a scan.

It did run that disc chek and after that it stayed switched on (although I did not use it) for about 3 hours and seemed OK. I will work on it in the morning now and then would find out if it has gone through. For anti virus I have AVG (paid version) and I also have malware installed.

in that same tools window you could also run a disk clean up which will delete all useless files and free up some space.

also run the defragmenter - this will reorganise your fragmented files and should help your system run smoother.

Update - That disc check seems to have got rid of the problem.
